Podcasts
In some ways I’m more into podcasts than music right now. I’m going to try to pitch you the idea of podcasts, but I am going to try to explain why they’re my media of choice right now. They’re something that feels fresh and provides me with entertainment. They fill a void in my life that had remained empty since high school - ever since I started college, I have watched...
Books are Stupid, iTunes is Smart
This is what I was thinking to myself as I went to bed last night. I was thinking about the millions of people walking around in our cities with white earbuds stuck in their ears, and how people in the publishing industry are producing great content and being utterly ridiculous about the medium they want to distribute it with. People want a way to have a variety of entertainment with them...
Radio Lab Begins New Season →
Hooray! My favorite show on radio is back for a new season, and this first episode is on the concept of choice, which I have been thinking about lately anyway.
New Yorker Profiles Dogfish Head →
There’s some kind of powerful juju going on in craft brewing. I don’t know what it is but it has something to do with Sam Calagione making an award-winning beer by seeking out the help of an archaeological chemist.

ITS THE FACE
Raconteurs - Old Enough
This is actually my favorite song off Consolers of the Lonely even though its not really a Jack White song. Upbeat electric organ keeps the slide guitar and violin moving along at a more rock-oriented fast tempo. This band is so well-integrated, it makes me want to close my eyes and wish the White Stripes out of existence. And the video, with its lyrically appropriate...

Al Gore Is Using Twitter →
Mind:blown. Not only is he using twitter, but during the interview that he tweets about, he says that he’s going to get a twitter app for his iPhone, and then his very next tweet IS FROM HIS IPHONE (it says “from twitterific - an iPhone app). Holy shit.
Webcomics Update
In American Elf, the sometimes-chilling bug eyes of Oliver Kochalka has given way to a kind of easy-going naivete. Somewhat remarkable since James draws Oliver the same(except for the wings, which are new), all he does differently is add a smile and have him be’s cute.I would write about webcomics every day, but that’s not worth it even if you’re good at it.
The Obama Agenda
Revitalizing the Economy
Ending the War in Iraq
Providing Health Care for All
Protecting America
Renewing American Global Leadership
This is an unbelievably ambitious list. And yet, somehow it still seems possible. You can check out Obama’s transitition team at www.change.gov
Remember Him? →
President Bush is doing a lot of damage to our country right now that will take Obama years to undo in the form of rushed regulations and guidelines.
Guys,
listen. David Byrne can’t vote. He’s as American as you or I, but he’s not a citizen and he can’t vote today. He’s very concerned about the direction our country is going in, though, so please vote for Barack Obama. Don’t do it for Barack, or yourself, or me. Do it for David Byrne. He needs this.
Mathematician Figures Out The "Hard Day's Night"... →
That chord was always mysterious and strange to me. Thanks for ruining it, buddy.
Remember how this show used to be really great? Yeah, me too.
